K.A.M FILMPRODUCTIONS is hosting a special film and music evening on the 28.th of January in the VENSTER 99
(Gürtelbogen 99/ U6 Alserstrasse)!!!

the night features 10 short films by independent film artists that’ll make you poop your pants!!!!

the total running time is about an hour, so don’t be turned away thinking ‘ phew…that’s way too many films’ ;)

after the visual stuff two great bands (DELILAH+VOI AM SAOUND) will be performing live on stage.

and if that wasn’t enough already… ROKKO (of ROKKOS ADVENTURES fame) and Thomas Reitmayer (of GLW/DRK fame) are gonna finish the evening off with their eclectic DJ sets!!!!

it’s been a while since the last post. i thought some updates regarding K.A.M stuff would be a good thing.

ATROPA re-cut version is nearly sold out by now and we are very happy about that….ROKKO wrote a damn fine review about ATROPA in his ÜBER-magazine ROKKOS ADVENTURES and on top of that he really found the right words to sum things up. on a sidenote, he even dropped in a maya deren reference, which was waaaaay cool!!!

i just finished a new experimental film called BRUTkasten, which is the quintessence of the visual stuff i was up to lately…i put it all in there…micro filming…the optical deceit of different visual surfaces…abstract transformations in relation to concrete objects…-the musical score on BRUTkasten is from the all around Sweethearts DELILAH….i shall post a sample of it here sometime soon, but im still not happy with the visual quality of the vimeo and youtube player…so maybe we get this flash player thing going by then..in the meantime i’ll leave you with a review of it from ROKKOS ADVENTURES.

werner xerox and stevie feiner are currently working on a stop motion film project that is downright awesome. xerox recently showed me some short excerpts of it and they were really something….oh, if only the quay brothers would know;).

if you are able to read the small printing on the flyer then you already know the deal..if not, let me just sum things up for you…two kick ass bands released a split record together on ZACH Records and decided to present it in a couple of upcoming shows
…the funny part about it is that MKM and DELILAH are NOT going to play their songs live on those dates. They rather decided to wrap the music up in a dandy performance kind of thing that includes dancing, projected visual stuff and LOTS of nudity;)…..they asked me to create a 5 minute video clip for them ….i said ‘FUCK YOU’
…well, and that’s that;)

Denkraum gallery on the 20.02.09.

his fine piece of work is called ‘Körper-Zelle’…not only the way he constructed this photo
(which looks more like a painting) is very impressive but also its measurements!!!

there's gonna be a cool event on saturday the 25th of april and everybody is invited to come along! Don't get distracted by the flyer and the eerie looking guy on it(phantom of the opera/1925), the night won't feature any horror movies or anything scarry of that sort!! It's called underGROUND film night cuz only 'underground films'(i know i should be careful using this highly charged term but c'mon!) by d.i.y artists are shown. these films were made out of passion without any commercial strings to major film companies or anything that would artistically compromise their vision.they were made cuz they had to be made- for the pure love of it! We simply owed it to ourselves!!

ok here are the facts:

the night will feature a BRANDNEW(!!)and much more compact( cuz way shorter&tighter) version of ATROPA by
K.A.M FILMPRODUCTIONS!

two incredibly awesome and intense works by TANJA WÖGERBAUER (one rather experimental/ZEITDIEB shot on 8mm film stock(with music from ra]va[ge) and the other DER WIDERWÄRTER-a documentary of some kind that will make you shiver the whole time.i wont give anything away, but trust me on that one!!

'tuesday's child is full of grace' is a delicately assembled 16mm found footage film by ANTONIA REPEC and JIAO GUO against child birth-with lots of fine layers in it and one significant visual loop at the end to undermine the message!!

after the visual stuff mr.ra]va[ge will either make your ears bleed or stuff it with cotton candy (depending on his set and mood;)..bring your dancing sneakers and show us your best moves!"!

klick klack and seriisious on the other hand will deliver you the goods from their personal record collections(ranging from pretentious assholes to screeching weasel),tickling each other and giggling like little kids while spilling their beer on the spinning wax.

What a fun night we had! Everything went smoothly and the neighbours were watching along with us.Good times! It was nice to expand the conventional cinema screen and let some natural stuff like tree branches enter the frame of sight. Apart from our experimental work we also showed some of the usual supsects like stan brakhage(mothlight, the garden of the earthly delights,the way to shadow garden),marie menken(lights), peter tscherkassky (outer space),martin arnold(passage a l'acte),etc..... needless to say that our jaws dropped to the floor!! We didn't want to break any copyright restrictions of the aformentioned artists so we transferred our public viewing to the inside and kept on eating some more yummy popcorn. ........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

31.03.09 X-PERI::MENTAL FILM NIGHT

We will be hosting an "X-PERI::MENTAL FILM" evening on tuesday 31st of march with selected works from various austrian and northern american avant-garde filmmakers (and our own stuff as well;). The films will be projected on the neighbours house(around 9pm i guess). Come along if you are interested!! please drop us an email beforehand so we can put some extra beer in the fridge for you!

What a bummer!! Sorry for the poor visual quality of our posted stuff so far. We have to come up with a new flash player kind of thing sometime soon to show you how the clips really look like!!!
